Updated March, 2025
The letters "SK" were originally used in Morse Code to indicate "end of transmission", literally "Silent Key". It is the last group of characters sent to end a contact. The term is also used among amateur radio operators to refer to, with respect, an operator that is deceased.
We recognize our friends and family members who are no longer with us on this page of SILENT KEYS.
